Passion Fruit

Passion fruit is becoming increasingly popular across Europe. Beneath its firm, leathery skin lies a golden, jelly-like pulp with a refreshing balance of sweetness and tanginess. The fruits come in a variety of sizes.

Interestingly, passion fruit can be enjoyed at different ripening stages. When the skin is still smooth, the flavor leans more toward sweet and sour. For those who prefer a richer sweetness, it’s best to wait until the skin turns wrinkly, as that’s when the fruit reaches its peak flavor.

Planting and Harvest : Passion fruit begins its journey from a tiny seed that grows into a vigorous vine, bearing its first fruits after about 10–12 months. One of the fascinating traits of this plant is its ability to yield fruit all year round. From the moment a flower blooms, it takes roughly 12 weeks for it to transform into a ripe passion fruit.

When the fruit changes color from green to a deep purple, growers know it has reached the perfect stage for harvesting. Each fruit then undergoes careful quality checks before being graded and sorted by size, ensuring only the best reach the market.
